From history: Air traffic is born on the ground.

In the mid-1990s, it was decided to explore the possibility of using the CNS&ATM (Communication, Navigation and Surveillance & Air Traffic Management) concept in Russia. As part of this task, FAU GosNIIAS, as an advanced aviation industry institute, took part in developing methods and tools for modelling air traffic management and organisation processes, as it has competencies and capabilities to simulate objects and their operating environments, as well as processes of interaction between the object and the environment.

GosNIIAS published a scientific article «System architectures for thermal management of hybrid-electric aircraft - FutPrint50».

GosNIIAS specialists together with the international consortium of the FutPrint50 project within the European Community's Eighth Framework Program (Horizon 2020) have published a scientific article «System architectures for thermal control of hybrid-electric aircraft - FutPrint50» in the «IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering».

GosNIIAS has completed its works on contribution in SENS4ICE international project in the framework Horizon 2020 EU - Research and Innovation program.

The main goal of SENS4ICE project is to increase aircraft safety due to provision of reliable detection of icing conditions.
